Beacon Wellness and Counseling
Dedicated to Care for your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual needs
"Thank you for your continued investment in awakening our collective consciousness." (from a client) (Not accepting new clients at this time)

Carol Binta Nadeem, LCPC,CCTP, ACS I am a licensed clinical professional counselor and certified clinical trauma professional who received my MA in Mental Health Counseling from Bowie State University. I am also a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor who
specializes in family system healing from the effects of substance abuse
through education and multi-sensory processing of childhood wounds.
As an Adlerian trained counselor, I use family of origin as a basis
for exploring key components of adult perception and world view. The use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps keep the focus on the "hear and now" and addresses the need to alleviate dysfunctional thought patterns developed as defenses in early childhood.
In addition, as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) I have over 25 years experience in addressing the unique challenges of African American families. I approach therapy in a non-traditional process oriented way in which clients are encouraged to focus on body, mind and spirit integration in an ever evolving process of growth and development. I am trained in Eye Movement Integration (EMI) a form of hypnosis used to uproot negative patterns of thought and replace positive affirmations on a deeply conscious level. I often use breath work, guided imagery, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and other kinesthetic modalities to unleash natural healing energy sometimes blocked by left brain logic. I am a Christ Centered Reiki Master and Bikram Yoga practitioner. Also. I am an Maryland Board of Professional Counselors approved counselor supervisor (ACS).
Mental Health Counseling: Experience working with individuals and groups, ages 18 and above.
Areas of specialty include; adjustment disorders, anger, anxiety, depression, loss, sexual abuse, codependency, addictions, PTSD and early childhood trauma.
